The Jack Daniel’s Experience

Jack Daniel's ExperienceJack Daniel’s will once again bring a “Taste of Tennessee” to the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally this year as official sponsor of the 2010 Sturgis Motorcycle Rally and presenting sponsor of the annual Sturgis Motorcycle Rally Mayor’s Ride. We invite motorcycle enthusiasts and visitors to come out and tour the nation’s oldest registered distillery from outside the Jack Daniel’s Hollow.

The Jack Daniel’s Experience, a mobile museum, is bringing a little of the much-loved distillery from Lynchburg to Sturgis. You’ll learn who Mr. Jack Daniel was and how he ended up with the best selling whiskey in the world. You’ll see (and smell) whiskey dripping slowly through charcoal and the new oak barrels used in maturing Tennessee’s finest whiskey. “This year at the Jack Daniel’s Experience, we’ll have a few of our good friends from Lynchburg, Tennessee, here to share some of Jack’s best stories,” said Dave Stang, Jack Daniel’s sponsorship director. “Once you tour the Experience and spend some time with the folks from Jack, it’ll make you want to plan a ride through the hills of Tennessee to see how and where we’ve made Jack Daniel’s since 1866.”

The Experience is open to all folks, 21 years old and up, for tours free of charge throughout the rally. There will be a licensed Jack Daniel’s merchandise vendor on-site with Jack apparel, bike items, and other unique pieces. Games and giveaways will also be part of the entertainment at various times throughout the Rally. Stop by to get your boots shined and see the 2010 Harley Jack Daniel’s Fire Brigade Harley. As always, those over the age of 21 years old will be able to purchase a refreshing Jack Daniel’s Country Cocktail from the bar, run by our friends at the local grocery mart.

“Ever since Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey was founded, it has stood for authenticity, Americana and freedom. And that’s exactly why Jack Daniel’s is proud to be part of the annual Sturgis Motorcycle Rally,” said Stang.

Officially registered by the U.S. Government in 1866, the Jack Daniel Distillery, Lem Motlow proprietor, is the oldest registered distillery in the United States and is on the National Register of Historic Places. Located in Lynchburg, Tenn. (pop. 361), the Jack Daniel Distillery is the maker of the world-famous Jack Daniel Old No. 7 Tennessee Whiskey, Gentleman Jack Rare Tennessee Whiskey, and Jack Daniel’s Single Barrel Tennessee Whiskey.
